Security: Device Access & Data Protection
Device access and data security have moved to the top of the list of customer concerns and purchase criteria.
Employees can scan and send data to any network address; hackers present a constant threat to corporate
networks; wireless connectivity can easily allow the interception of unprotected data streams, leaving
companies vulnerable to information theft, security breaches, or falsification. Toward that end, the next-
generation Savin Controller Architecture offers a number of standard and optional features to limit device
access, track usage, and protect confidential information stored in memory in addition to the Locked Print
mode reviewed earlier.
Please note that any security-related capabilities requiring the 80 GB Hard Disk Drive are part of the standard
feature set of the Savin CLP42DN, and can be accessed on the Savin CLP37DN when that model is
configured with the 80 GB HDD option.
Further, these features are separate from the Enhanced Locked Print-NX (ELP-NX) function, which requires
software installed on a VM Card. ELP-NX is standard only for the Savin CLP42DN and cannot be added to the
Savin CLP37DN in any configuration.
The following is a brief review of the
security features provided by the
Savin CLP37DN and Savin CLP42DN
Color Laser Printers.
