Device Customization
Savin understands that every business is
unique. To meet your customers’ specific
workflow requirements, the Savin
CLP37DN/CLP42DN supports
Savin s
Em be dded Softw are Architec ture
(ESA)
. This innovative Java-compatible
software development platform permits for
the design and implementation of customized
applications to be embedded inside Savin
multifunction systems and laser printers.
The Software Development Kit (SDK) for the
ESA is a package of code-writing and
application development-compiling-testing-
debugging tools and manuals. Together, they
allow Savin and customer solution partners
(ISVs, SIs, VARs, etc.) to create and embed
unique applications that run inside the printer to meet specialized workflow needs of businesses. These may
include forms printing, unique fonts, barcodes, retail transaction/receipt printing, automated document
routing, or report printing applications.
After an application has been created and tested, the code is installed in the
device via the lower SD Card slot on the rear controller panel. Additionally,
the code can be directly transferred to the printer and stored in the system’s
HDD if so configured, leaving an SD Card slot available for other optional
functionality.
Note
: Additional memory option of at least 256 MB RAM is required for the use of SDK applications in the
CLP37DN.
Savin's Embedded Software Architecture will help to establish long term, profitable relationships with your
accounts by delivering solutions that seamlessly integrate with established (or new) workflows. Savin ESA
levels the playing field against other customization solutions such as Canon’s MEAP (Multifunctional
Embedded Application Platform), Konica Minolta’s Open API, and Sharp's OSA java development platform.
