Black Overprint
The advantage of Black Overprint is to
enhance the quality of text and black images
printed on colored backgrounds. By
activating the Black Overprint feature
(Default OFF), black text and graphics are
drawn last over the solid color, blend, or
image, preventing unpleasant results such
as blurred text or haloing due to the slight
shifting of text position.
Color Control, Simulation & Profiles
The purpose of c
colo r si mula tion and
color profil es
is to control how well Device
A replicates how Device B would reproduce
the same image using a different printing
technology (i.e. offset), or on a different
printer (i.e. Hewlett Packard). The Savin
CLP37DN/CLP42DN uses a series of tables
called color rendering dictionaries (CRDs)
within its various drivers that contain preset
values for how different devices produce
particular colors. In this way, the printers can
be “tuned” to deliver output that simulates
how an image will print in its final
reproduction on a particular device. The
Savin CLP37DN/CLP42DN supports several
types of color profile and matching options:
Auto
: Allows the printer to select the
best color profile depending upon
the content and appearance of the
document.
Photograph ic
: Use this setting when the document contains photos and images with midtones.
Presentation
: This CRD is best for printing colored charts and graphs and documents with large
areas of solid colors and text.
