Installations
Two steps are necessary before you can begin printing with the
printer driver of the Macintosh operating system Mac OS 9.x. In-
stallation and configuration of the printer driver as well as en-
tering the print defaults in the print dialog.
To install the printer driver for Macintosh, you have to install on
two computers. You have to install on the Windows 2000 com-
puter of the RW-470 PLOTBASE server and on the Macintosh PC.
Installations on Server PC with Windows 2000
• Print service for UNIX
1. Open “Start – Settings – ControlPanel – Add/Remove Pro-
grams – Add/Remove Windows Components – Other Net-
work File and Print Services – Print Service for UNIX”.
2. Change the settings so that the print service for UNIX auto-
matically runs following each new start of the computer. To
do this, go to the Desktop and open “My Computer” with
by clicking on the right-hand side mouse button and select
menu item “Manage – Services and Applications – Serv-
ices”.
3. Open “TCP/IP Print Server” with a double-click and set the
“Startup Type” to “automatically”.
• Installation RW-470 WINPRINT:
1. Start the Setup from the folder \\<Server>\tools\
WINPRINT
2. Enter “PbPort” as the port name.
3. Enter “WINPRINT” as the printer name.
4. Enter “WINPRINT” as the shared name.
5. Specify the spool folder of the lpr-print system with
“c:\spool\cfg” as via “Start – Settings – Printers – WINPRINT
– Properties – Ports – Configure Ports”
Installation on the Macintosh computer
1. Start your Internet browser.
2. Open “http://<Server>/tools/PLOTCLIENT_MAC”.
