SYMPTOM
Jam code 53 sometimes occurs when LT LEF is fed from the tandem tray.
Note:
! Jam code 53: The tandem tray paper feed sensor detects the presence of paper past the
predetermined time period (a certain number of ms after detecting the paper’s leading edge).
! This symptom only occurs under the conditions described above, and not with any other
paper sizes or feed trays.
CAUSE
The paper sometimes slips and does not clear the paper feed sensor in time, allowing the next
sheet fed to catch up with it and cause the jam.
SOLUTION
Update the BCU firmware to v4.10 (released in October 2003).
