Then, insert the metal end of a CAM DOWEL (2F) into each HIDDEN CAM. Do not tighten the HIDDEN CAMS in this step. Step 3 å Fasten the ENDS (A and B) to the TOP (C). Tighten four HIDDEN CAMS. Caution Do not stand the unit upright without the BACK fastened. The unit may collapse. HIDDEN CAMS that are not completely tightened may loosen, and parts may separate. To completely tighten: www.sauder.
Step 4 å Fasten the BOTTOM (D) to the ENDS (A and B). Use four BLACK 1-7/8" FLAT HEAD SCREWS (2S). 1S å å å NOTE: Be sure the locator hole is positioned as shown in the BOTTOM (D). BLACK 9/16" LARGE HEAD SCREW (1 used for the METAL BRACKET) Slip a LARGE RUBBER SLEEVE (58G) over the METAL BRACKET (4G). The RUBBER SLEEVE will be a tight fit. 4G Fasten the METAL BRACKET (4G) to the TOP (C). Use a BLACK 9/16” LARGE HEAD SCREW (1S).
Step 5 å Carefully turn your unit over onto its front edges. Unfold the BACK (E) and lay it over your unit. å Make equal margins along all four edges of the BACK (E). Push on opposite corners of your unit if needed to make it "square". å å Fasten the BACK (E) to your unit using the NAILS (1N). å Now, turn an ADJUSTABLE GLIDE (33E) into the center hole of each FOOT (21E). å NOTE: Final adjustments can be made to the ADJUSTABLE GLIDES after the unit is standing upright and in its final location.
Step 6 å Fasten two HINGES (40H) to each DOOR (F and G). Use eight BLACK 1/2" FLAT HEAD SCREWS (11S). å Fasten the SLIDE CATCH (6J) to the RIGHT DOOR (F). Use two BLACK 7/8" FLAT HEAD SCREWS (31S). 31S Don't worry. It isn't Rome. This can be built in a day. 11S 31S BLACK 1/2” FLAT HEAD SCREW (8 used in this step) BLACK 7/8" FLAT HEAD SCREW (2 used in this step) 40H 6J G F 40H Page 10 418101 www.sauder.
Step 7 å å Carefully stand your unit upright. å Fasten the LEFT DOOR (G) to the LEFT END (B) as shown in the lower diagram. Use the screws in the HINGES. You should start each SCREW a few turns before completely tightening any of them. å å NOTE: Be sure the acorn caps in the camouflage finish are facing up. å å å Repeat this step for the RIGHT DOOR (F). Acorn cap Before fastening the DOOR to your unit, be sure the mounting screw is against the stops as shown in the right diagram.
Step 8 å Refer to the enlarged diagram to identify the parts on the HINGES. å The DOORS may need some adjustments. Follow the text below to make needed adjustments. å DOOR ADJUSTMENTS: To adjust the DOORS from side to side (horizontal), loosen the mounting screw several turns, then turn the adjusting screw in or out. Tighten the mounting screw after making adjustments. å To adjust the DOORS up and down (vertical), loosen both vertical adjustment screws.
Step 9 å Fasten the LOCK (12J) to the LEFT DOOR (G) in the exact order shown. It is important to make sure the CAM points exactly as shown. Meanwhile, the key must turn clockwise 1/4 turn to lock properly. The CAM should swing upward when locked. å NOTE: To lock the DOORS, shut the RIGHT DOOR (F) and push the SLIDE CATCH on the DOOR up to go into the hole on the TOP (C).
Step 10 å å IMPORTANT: This unit must be positioned against a wall. NOTE: If needed, you can adjust your unit by inserting your straight edge screwdriver into the holes in the BOTTOM (D). To raise a corner of the unit, turn the ADJUSTABLE GLIDE clockwise. To lower a corner, turn the ADJUSTABLE GLIDE counter-clockwise. å Push the RUBBER SLEEVES (2R) over the METAL PINS (1R). Insert the METAL PINS into the hole locations of your choice in the ENDS (A and B).
