Then, insert the metal end of a CAM DOWEL (2F) into each HIDDEN CAM. Do not tighten the HIDDEN CAMS in this step. Step 2 å Using your hammer, gently tap four SUPPORT PINS (4R) into the DESK ENDS (A2 and B2). å Fasten the DESK UPRIGHT (C2) to the DESK TOP (D). Tighten two HIDDEN CAMS. Caution Do not stand the unit upright without the BACK fastened. The unit may collapse. 4R A2 Finished edge B2 D If the DESK TOP has an unfinished surface, it should be positioned here. Step 3 å Fasten the DESK BOTTOM (E) and DESK SHELF (G) to the DESK UPRIGHT (C2). Use four BLACK 1-15/16" FLAT HEAD SCREWS (113S). å Fasten the DESK RIGHT END (A2) to the DESK TOP (D), DESK BOTTOM (E), and DESK SHELF (G). Use six BLACK 1-15/16" FLAT HEAD SCREWS (113S). å Insert the MAGNETIC CATCH (2I) into the hole in the DESK SHELF (G). For adjustments, turn the barrel counter-clockwise.
Step 4 å å Carefully turn your desk onto its top. Don't worry. It isn't Rome. This can be built in a day. Fasten the DESK MODESTY PANEL (F) to the DESK UPRIGHT (C2). Use two BLACK 1-15/16" FLAT HEAD SCREWS (113S). C2 F Notch If the DESK MODESTY PANEL has an unfinished surface, it should be positioned here. 113S BLACK 1-15/16" FLAT HEAD SCREW (2 used in this step) www.sauder.
Step 5 å Fasten the DESK LEFT END (B2) to the DESK TOP (D) and DESK MODESTY PANEL (F). Use four BLACK 1-15/16" FLAT HEAD SCREWS (113S). F D B2 Finished edge 113S BLACK 1-15/16" FLAT HEAD SCREW (4 used in this step) Page 8 416368 www.sauder.
Step 6 å Carefully turn your unit over onto its front edges. Lay the DESK BACK (H) over your unit. å Make equal margins along all four edges of the DESK BACK (H). Push on opposite corners of your unit if needed to make it “square”. å å Fasten the DESK BACK (H) to your unit using the NAILS (1N). å NOTE: Perforations have been provided for access through the BACK. Carefully cut out the holes needed. Caution Do not stand the unit upright without the BACK fastened. The unit may collapse.
Step 7 å Fasten a PIVOT HINGE (25H) to the DESK DOOR (I). Use a BROWN 7/16" LARGE HEAD SCREW (6S). å Fasten a STRIKE PLATE (6I) to the DESK DOOR (I). Use a BLACK 1/2" FLAT HEAD SCREW (11S). å NOTE: The surface of the STRIKE PLATE with "SAUDER" should be facing up. IMPORTANT: Only fasten one PIVOT HINGE to the DOOR in this step. 6S BROWN 7/16" LARGE HEAD SCREW (1 used for the PIVOT HINGE) I 25H 6I 11S BLACK 1/2" FLAT HEAD SCREW (1 used for the STRIKE PLATE) Page 10 416368 www.sauder.
Step 8 å å å Carefully stand your desk upright. å Now, tip the DESK DOOR (I) in and fasten the free PIVOT HINGE (25H) to the DESK DOOR. Use a BROWN 7/16” LARGE HEAD SCREW (6S). å NOTE: To make adjustments to the DESK DOOR, loosen the SCREW in the HINGE, make needed adjustments, and tighten the SCREW. å Fasten the PULL (47K) to the DESK DOOR (I). Use two SILVER 3/4" MACHINE SCREWS (53S). Insert the remaining PIVOT HINGE (25H) into the WASHER (9I) and into the DESK BOTTOM (E).
Step 9 å Push the RUBBER SLEEVES (2R) over the METAL PINS (1R). Insert the METAL PINS into the hole locations of your choice in the DESK RIGHT END (A2) and DESK UPRIGHT (C2). Set the DESK ADJUSTABLE SHELF (J) onto the METAL PINS. å å å å Center a SCREW COVER (21P) over the head of each visible SCREW and press firmly. Push a CAM COVER (12P) onto each HIDDEN CAM in the DESK UPRIGHT (C2). NOTE: Please read the back pages of the instruction booklet for important safety information. This completes assembly.
