It means a video assembly tip is available at www.sauder.com/services/tips Step 1 å Assemble your unit on a carpeted floor or on the empty carton to avoid scratching your unit or the floor. å To begin assembly, push four SAUDER TWIST-LOCK® FASTENERS (L) into the large holes in the ENDS (A and B). å Repeat this step for the TOP (C). Do not tighten the TWIST-LOCK® FASTENERS in this step. (7 used) L B A www.sauder.
Step 2 å Fasten the ENDS (A and B) to the TOP (C). Tighten four TWIST-LOCK® FASTENERS. Caution Do not stand the unit upright without the BACK fastened. The unit may collapse. How to use the SAUDER TWIST-LOCK® FASTENER 1. Insert the dowel end of the FASTENER into the hole of the adjoining part. NOTE: The dowel end of the FASTENER must remain fully inserted in the hole of the adjoining part while locking the FASTENER. 2. Tighten the FASTENER with a Phillips screwdriver as tight as possible.
Step 3 å Fasten the BOTTOM (D) to the ENDS (A and B). Use four BLACK 1-7/8" FLAT HEAD SCREWS (W). Remember: Righty tighty. Lefty loosey. B Rounded edge A Unfi nish ed sur fac e D W BLACK 1-7/8" FLAT HEAD SCREW (4 used in this step) www.sauder.
Step 4 å Fasten the TOP MOLDING (J) to the TOP (C). Tighten three TWIST-LOCK® FASTENERS. å Slip a LARGE RUBBER SLEEVE (P) over the TIE PLATE (O). The RUBBER SLEEVE will be a tight fit. å Then, fasten the TIE PLATE (O) to the TOP MOLDING (J). Use a BLACK 9/16" LARGE HEAD SCREW (Z). Step 5 å Slide the FEET (I and K) into the notches in the SKIRTS (H and R). å Use a hammer to drive a PROPEL NUT (T) into the holes in the FEET (I and K). Now, turn an ADJUSTABLE GLIDE (S) into each PROPEL NUT. S (4 used) T I K R H I K R www.sauder.
Step 6 å å Fasten the SKIRTS (H and R) to the BOTTOM (D). Use four BLACK 9/16" WAFER HEAD SCREWS (AA) through the FEET and into the BOTTOM. Don't worry. It isn't Rome. This can be built in a day. NOTE: To raise a corner of the unit, turn the ADJUSTABLE GLIDE counter-clockwise. To lower a corner, turn the ADJUSTABLE GLIDE clockwise. Step 7 å Carefully turn your unit over onto its front edges. Unfold the BACK (E) and lay it over your unit. å Make equal margins along all four edges of the BACK (E). Push on opposite corners of your unit if needed to make it “square”. å å Fasten the BACK (E) to your unit using the NAILS (CC). Caution Do not stand the unit upright without the BACK fastened. The unit may collapse. NOTE: Perforations have been provided for access through the BACK. Carefully cut out the holes needed.
Step 8 å Fasten two HINGES (M) to each DOOR (F). Use eight BLACK 1/2" FLAT HEAD SCREWS (BB). BB BLACK 1/2" FLAT HEAD SCREW (8 used for the HINGES) M F F M Page 12 411591 www.sauder.
Step 9 å å Carefully stand your unit upright. å Fasten the DOOR (F) to the LEFT END (B) as shown in the lower diagram. Use the screws in the HINGES. You should start each SCREW a few turns before completely tightening any of them. Stop å Fasten a PULL (Q) to the DOOR (F). Use two BLACK 7/8" MACHINE SCREWS (Y). Mounting screw å å Repeat this step for the other DOOR (F). Pro Tip: Lift with your legs. And, you know, your arms.
Step 10 å å å Refer to the enlarged diagram to identify the parts on the HINGES. å To adjust the DOORS up and down (vertical), loosen both vertical adjustment screws. Move the DOORS up or down to the desired location. Tighten the screws after making adjustments. å To adjust the DOORS in or out (depth), loosen the mounting screw one turn and move the DOORS in or out, as needed. Tighten the mounting screw after making adjustments. The DOORS may need some adjustments.
Step 11 å IMPORTANT: Units that are stacked on top of another unit must be attached to each other as indicated in this step. These units must be positioned against a wall and the upper unit must be attached to a wall. å å å You may need someone's help in this step. å NOTE: The holes in the TOP are not through holes. Use a little extra force while turning these SCREWS. STACKING OPTION: (If not stacking units, go to step 12) Remove the SKIRTS from the upper unit.
Step 12 å å Place your unit into its final position against a wall. å Push the RUBBER SLEEVES (V) over the METAL PINS (U). Insert the METAL PINS into the hole locations of your choice in the ENDS (A and B). Set the ADJUSTABLE SHELF (G) onto the METAL PINS. å å NOTE: Please read the back pages of the instruction booklet for important safety information. Fasten the SAFETY BRACKET (N) for added stability.
