SECTION 6: ON LINE INTRODUCTION This section is to assist you in using about “ON LINE”. The following information is provided in this section.
SECTION 6: ON LINE ONLINE MAINTENANCE SUMMARY This specification describes such features as to connect a printer and a host computer via RS-232C, and register and page parameter and others. It also explains how to specify data that can be sent from a host to a printer. Field: This printer is so designed that it can select size of label and type of character or number, layout barcode, and set freely for customer preference. The data set, based on these needs, is called “field parameter”.
SECTION 6: ON LINE STRUCTURE FOR COMMAND 1. Basic configuration When command is sent to a printer, it consists of header, format No., field data, and trailer, all of which are designated in order: Header ・ ・ ・ ・ ・STX ・ Format No. ・ ・ Format No. and data regulating print position (format and label names) Field ・ ・ ・ Field No.
SECTION 6: ON LINE 2. Data regulating print position This command specifies value that regulates print position. ・ [ 1B (H), 4D (H) ] nnn ・・・・ n (32 bytes can be designated.
SECTION 6: ON LINE 3. Transmission of field parameter and field data Field parameter specifies item name, print position, and font type, from which filed data can be assigned for data on print. The parameter and data shall be set on a field unit basis for sending. Up to 30 fields can be repeatedly specified. • Item name can be designated by 10 bytes. • Parameter can be designated by 46 bytes. • Fixed data can be designated by 32 bytes. Field No.
SECTION 6: ON LINE CONFIGURATION FOR DATA TO BE TRANSMITTED 1. Command for specifying medium Where print parameter or preset data is sent, for each data to be transmitted, SOH + medium assignment shall be sent as header and EOT be transmitted as trailer. This sending is not on a field unit basis, and each command should be put at the head and end as described.
