Command Structure
<ESC>*a
a = Specifies the internal memory section to be
cleared.
T To clear the custom character memory
& To clear the form overlay memory
X To clear all internal memory
Example: <ESC>*
<ESC>*&
Placement: This command should be sent to the printer as
an independent data stream.
Default: None
Command Function
To clear individual memory or buffer areas of the printer.
Input to Printer:
<ESC>A
<ESC>*
<ESC>Z
Printer Output:
There is no printer output as a result of this command. The
current print job in the buffer will be terminated and all other
print jobs in the buffer cleared.
Special Note
1. It is not necessary to clear the printer’s memory between
each print job.
2. When the “a” parameter is used, the section of memory
specified will not be cleared until the label is printed.
3. When the “a” parameter is not included, all sections of
memory will be cleared the same as for the <ESC>*X
command.
