OTHER NATIONAL DIFFERENCES
1.5.1 Some components and materials associated
with the risk of fire, electric shock, or personal
injury are required to have component or
material ratings in accordance with the
applicable national (Canadian and/or U.S.)
component or material standard
requirements. These components include:
attachment plugs, battery packs
(rechargeable type, used with transportable
equipment), cathode ray tubes, circuit
breakers, communication circuit accessories,
connectors (used for current interruption of
nonLPS circuits), cord sets and power supply
cords, direct plugin equipment, enclosures
(outdoor), flexible cords and cables, fuses
(branch circuit), fuseholders, groundfault
current interrupters, industrial control
equipment, insulating tape, interconnecting
cables, lampholders, limit controls, printed
wiring, protectors for communications circuits,
receptacles, solid state controls,
supplementary protectors, switches (including
interlock switches), thermal cutoffs,
thermostats, (multilayer) transformer winding
wire, transient voltage surge suppressors,
tubing, wire connectors, and wire and cables.
Complied. Components are UL or
CSA approved, see component list
1.5.1.

1.6.1.2 A circuit for connection to the DC Mains
Supply is classified as either a SELV Circuit,
TNV-2 Circuit or Hazardous Voltage Circuit
depending on the maximum operating voltage
of the supply. This maximum operating
voltage shall include consideration of the
battery charging “float voltage” associated
with the intended supply system, regardless
of the marked power rating of the equipment.
No TNV circuits.
N
2.3.1 For TNV-2 and TNV-3 circuits with other than
ringing signals and with voltages exceeding
42.4 Vpeak or 60 Vd.c., the maximum
acceptable current through a 2000 ohm
resistor (or greater) connected across the
voltage source with other loads disconnected
is 7.1 mA peak or 30 mA d.c. under normal
operating conditions.
No TNV circuits.
N
2.3.2.1 In the event of a single fault between TNV
and SELV circuits, the limits of 2.2.3 apply to
SELV Circuits and accessible conductive
parts.
No TNV circuits.

2.6.3.4 Protective bonding conductors of non-
standard protective bonding constructions
(e.g., printed circuit traces) may be subjected
to the additional limited short circuit test
