1.1.1 All equipment is to be designed to allow
installation in accordance with the National
Electrical Code ANSI/NFPA 70, and when
applicable, the National Electrical Safety
Code, IEEE C2. Also, unless marked or
otherwise identified, installation is allowed per
the Standard for the Protection of Electronic
Computer/Data-Processing Equipment,
ANSI/NFPA 75.

1.4.14 For Pluggable Equipment Type A, the
protection in the installation is assumed to be
20 A.

1.5.5 For lengths exceeding 3.05 m, external
interconnecting flexible cord and cable
assemblies are required to be a suitable
cable type specified in the NEC. For lengths
3.05 m or less, external interconnecting
flexible cord and cable assemblies that are

have special construction features and
identification markings.

1.7.1 Equipment for use on a.c. mains supply
systems with a neutral and more than one
phase conductor (e.g. 120/240 V, 3-wires)
require a special marking format for electrical

transformer overcurrent protection.
