14.7.3 Using data binding to bind an Xcelsius SWF object to a report
Data can be sent from a report to an SWF, but not from an SWF to a report. The parameters in the
SWF are extracted to set the name of the parameter and the format of the data, such as cell, row, or
table.
There are three ways to bind data to Flash variables within the SWF object:
Bind to a cross-tab in the SWF.
A user interface that is like the cross-tab expert allows you to map rows, columns, and summarized
fields to Xcelsius variables.
Bind to an external cross-tab.
You can bind data to a cross-tab within the report.
Bind to a single value.
You can bind data to one detail item in the report. Select fields from the tables to bind to existing
variables in the "Flash Data Expert".
Note:
If a recurring field is selected, only the first instance is sent.
