Supported SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform Features
The following SAP BusinessObjects BI platform features are supported with an RPTR formatted report:
• Add RPTR file using BI LaunchPad
• View RPTR file using Java DHTML Viewer
• Export during scheduling
• Publication destination format (include limitations)
• Publishing wizard
Non-Supported Platforms (Viewers, Designers, and BI Platform Servers)
The following list details the viewers, designers, and BI platform servers that do not support the RPTR
format:
• ActiveX Viewer
• Java Applet Viewer
• SAP Crystal Reports for enterprise
• SAP Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010 Embedded Designer
• Versions of SAP Crystal Reports that are not listed here
To export to a Crystal Reports Read-Only (RPTR) file
1.
Open a Crystal Reports (RPT) report.
2.
From the File menu, select Export > Export Report.
The "Export" dialog box appears.
3.
In Format, select Crystal Reports Read-Only (RPTR).
4.
Select the Destination for your report, and then click OK.
A read-only version of the report is created.
To create an RPTR file from an existing RPTR file
You can create a new RPTR file from an existing RPTR file using the viewers that support viewing an
RPTR formatted report.
Note:
When attempting to save an RPTR formatted report using the viewers, the only available format is
RPTR. You cannot save a read-only report as one that is not read-only.
1.
Open your RPTR formatted report in your chosen viewer.
2.
From the File menu, click Save As, and input the file name.
3.
Click Save.
You have saved a copy of the RPTR report

By exporting reports in HTML format, Crystal Reports provides you with a new option for rapid, convenient
distribution of important company data. Once exported, your reports become accessible with many of
the most popular Web browsers, including Netscape and Microsoft Internet Explorer.
