Before Using the Product Cleaning Cleaning Exercise care when cleaning as the panel and exterior of advanced LCDs are easily scratched. Take the following steps when cleaning. 1. Power off the monitor and computer. 2. Disconnect the power cord from the monitor. Hold the power cable by the plug and do not touch the cable with wet hands. Otherwise, an electric shock may result. 3. Wipe the monitor screen using a clean, soft and dry cloth.
Before Using the Product Securing the Installation Space z Ensure some space around the product for ventilation. An internal temperature rise may cause fire and damage the product. Be sure to allow the amount of space as shown below or greater when installing the product. 1 1.3 Preparations Installation 1.3.1 Attaching the Stand Place a protective cloth or cushion on a flat surface. Next, place the product with the face down on top of the cloth or cushion. Insert the stand base into the stand in the direction of the arrow. Do not remove the fixing pin until you are finished attaching the stand. Fasten the screw tightly (using a screwdriver or coin) into the bottom of the stand base. After installing the stand, place the product upright.

Specifications are subject to change without notice to improve quality. z To adjust the height, remove the fixing pin. z The monitor tilt and height can be adjusted. z Hold the top center of the product and adjust the height carefully. 1.3.3 Rotating the Monitor You can rotate your monitor as shown below. z Be sure to fully extend the stand before rotating the monitor.
1 Preparations 1.3.4 Installing a Wall-mount Kit or Desktop Stand Before Installation Power the product off and remove the power cable from the power socket. Place a protective cloth or cushion on a flat surface. Next, place the product with the face down on top of the cloth or cushion. Unfasten the screw from the back of the product. Lift and detach the stand.
1 Preparations Notes z Using a screw longer than the standard length can damage the internal components of the product. z The length of screws required for a wall mount that does not comply with the VESA standards may vary depending on the specifications. z Do not use screws that do not comply with the VESA standards. Do not attach the wall-mount kit or desktop stand using excessive force. The product may get damaged or fall and cause personal injury.
2 2.1 Using "PCoIP"? What is a "PC over IP"? z This monitor can decode and display the screen of the server PC encoded and transmitted through the network (LAN) as well as display the computer screen like a conventional monitor. This monitor shows a far more improved performance than a normal RDP and has been designed to support a resolution of 1920*1080 pixels for high-quality graphic work.
2 2.2 Using "PCoIP"? Connection to Use "PCoIP" 2.2.1 Connection Using the DVI Cable DVI IN 1 2 DVI OUT Connect the DVI cable to [DVI IN] on the back of the monitor and [DVI OUT] on the stand base. Connect the DC power adapter to the product and a power outlet. Next, turn on the power switch on the stand base. (For details, refer to "3.3 Connecting the Power".) 3 Press [ ] to change the input source to Digital. 2.2.
2 Using "PCoIP"? 1 Connect an audio output device (headphones or speakers) to [AUDIO OUT] on the back or [ ] on the right side of the stand base. 2.2.3 Connecting to a LAN LAN 1 Connect the LAN cable to [LAN] on the back of the stand base. It is not supported when the network speed is below or equal to 10Mbps.
2 Using "PCoIP"? 2.2.4 Connecting MIC MIC 1 Connect the microphone to [MIC] on the right side of the stand base. 2.2.5 Connecting a USB Devices 1 z The [ ] port supports up to USB 2.0. z VMware View 4.6 or later is required. Data transfer rate may decrease depending on the network conditions. Connect a USB device (keyboard, mouse, etc.) to [ ] on the back or right side of the stand base.
2 Using "PCoIP"? 2.2.6 Connecting to a Secondary Monitor DVI IN RGB OUT RGB IN DVI OUT 1 2 3 Connect the DVI cable to [DVI IN] on the back of the product and [DVI OUT] on the stand base. Connect the D-SUB cable to [RGB OUT] on the stand base and [RGB IN] on the secondary monitor. Connect the DC power adapter to the product and a power outlet. Next, turn on the power switch on the stand base. (For details, refer to "3.3 Connecting the Power".
2 2.3 Using "PCoIP"? "PCoIP" 2.3.1 On Screen Display (OSD) The On Screen Display (OSD) local GUI is displayed to the user when the device is powered on and a PCoIP session is not in progress. The OSD provides a mechanism to connect to a host device via the Connect Screen. The Connect Screen is presented to the user on startup. The Connect Screen also allows access to the Options Window. The Options Window is accessible through the button on the Connect Screen.
2 Using "PCoIP"? Connect Button Selecting the Connect button initiates a PCoIP or RDP session, depending on the session settings. While the PCoIP connection is pending, the OSD local GUI will display a “Connection Pending” message. When the connection is established, the OSD local GUI will disappear and be replaced with the session image.
2 Using "PCoIP"? 2.3.3 OSD Menu Selecting the menu will produce a list of selections. The OSD menu contains: z z z z z Selecting one of the selections will produce a settings window. Figure 2-3: OSD Menu 2.3.
2 Using "PCoIP"? z z z z Each tab has , , and buttons that allow the administrator to accept or cancel the setting changes made on the tab. Some PCoIP devices have password protection disabled and do not require a password to login into the administration webpages or access the OSD parameters. Password protection for the Log In page and OSD can be enabled through PCoIP Management Console.
2 Using "PCoIP"? z The field is the device’s subnet mask. If DHCP is disabled, this field is required. If DHCP is enabled, this field is not editable. This field must be a valid subnet mask, if an invalid subnet mask is entered, the OSD will prompt the administrator to correct it. z The field is the device’s gateway IP address. If DHCP is disabled, this field is required. If DHCP is enabled, this field is not editable.

2 Using "PCoIP"? Tab The configuration tab allows the use of features that ease the discovery of Portals in a PCoIP system. The Discovery parameters can also be configured using the Webpage Administration Interface. Figure 2-7: Configuration z If the option is enabled, the device will dynamically discover peer devices using SLP Discovery, without requiring prior knowledge of their locations in the network.
2 Using "PCoIP"? Tab The tab allows an administrator to configure how the device connects to peer devices. The Session parameters can also be configured using the Webpage Administration Interface. The screen-screen saver is a simple black screen with the screen-saver text jumping randomly. The field allows the administrator to configure the screen-saver timeout. The field reports the total round-trip PCoIP system (e.g. Portal to Host and back to Portal) and network latency in milliseconds (+/- 1 ms). 2 Using "PCoIP"? 2.3.7 Window The window allows the user to access window tabs that define the mouse and keyboard settings and the PCoIP image quality. The tabs in the User Settings menu are: z z z Tab The tab allows a user to change the mouse cursor speed settings for the OSD and RDP sessions.
2 Using "PCoIP"? Tab The tab allows a user to change the keyboard repeat settings for the OSD and RDP sessions. The keyboard settings do not affect the keyboard settings when a PCoIP session is active unless the Local Keyboard Host Driver function is being used (see PCoIP Host Software User Guide for more information). 2 Using "PCoIP"? The allows a user to change the image settings on the PCoIP system. The Image parameters can also be configured using the Webpage Administration Interface. Connect to the host PC using a LAN cable 1 Host PC 2 HUB 3 LAN Cable 4 1 Connect the power cord to the power terminal at the back of the monitor. 2 Connect the mouse and the keyboard to the USB ports. 3 Connect the LAN port on the back of the monitor and the hub. 4 Connect the hub and the LAN port of the host PC. Monitor The host PC must have an IP address. After connecting the LAN and setting the IP address, you can view the host PC screen on the monitor.

The number and locations of ports on source devices may differ from device to device. z Do not connect the power cable until all connections are completed. The DC power adapter cannot be attached to the back of the monitor.
4 4.1 Screen Setup Configure the screen settings such as brightness and color tone. Brightness You can adjust the general brightness of the picture. (Range: 0~100) A higher value will make the picture appear brighter. SAMSUNG This menu is not available when MAGIC Bright is set to Dynamic Contrast mode. 4.1.1 Configuring Brightness 1 2 3 Press [ MENU ] on the product. 4 4.4 Screen Setup SAMSUNG MAGIC Bright This menu provides an optimum picture quality suitable for the environment where the product will be used. SAMSUNG This menu is not available when MAGIC Angle is enabled. This feature provides the viewing angle, brightness, and tint to suit your preferences. 4.4.1 Configuring SAMSUNG MAGIC Bright 1 2 3 Press [ MENU ] on the product. Gamma The Gamma menu adjusts the grey scale that represents middle tones on the screen. Adjusting the brightness brightens the whole screen, but adjusting Gamma only brightens the medium brightness.
Appendix Resolution Resolution is the number of horizontal pixels and vertical pixels that form a screen. It represents the level of display detail. A higher resolution displays a greater amount of information on the screen and is suitable for performing multiple tasks at the same time. E.g.
