S-Video
Super Video is both a tape recording standard and a video transmission
and interface standard. It offers much better horizontal resolution up to
400TV lines. This is mainly due to the color separation techniques.
S-Video is usually associated with Y/C separated signals.
S-VHS
Resolution
A measure of the ability of a camera or television system to reproduce
detail. Typically refers to the number of picture elements that can be
reproduced with good definition.
Contrast Ratio
Contrast ratio refers to the difference in light intensity between the whitest
white and blackest black the monitor is able to produce. The higher the
ratio, the better the color representation of the monitor. e.g. a 500:1
contrast ratio is significantly better than a 150:1 contrast ratio. A higher
contrast ratio also means the monitor is better able to differentiate fine
details in color.
Response Time
Response time refers to the amount of time it takes for an liquid crystal
cell (pixel) to switch from active to non-active, and is measured in
milliseconds (ms). This is very important for applications that require fast
moving (changing) images like video playback. An average LCD monitor
has a response time of 25-40ms, which will result in significant image
trailing while watching videos.
Viewing Angle
Viewing Angle describes the maximum angle at which an LCD monitor
can reliably be viewed. Viewing angles have greatly improved over the
years, and now nearly all LCD monitors support viewing angles of 150
degrees and above, which is more than acceptable in ordinary use. The
best LCD monitors offer 160 degree viewing angle, making them nearly
as good as CRT monitors.

added resolution. Samsung Techwin Monitors are engineered to match
the high performance of our cameras and recording systems.
Samsung Techwin has a complete LCD monitor range to cover all
security applications. To assist in choosing the correct monitor the range
is divided into four distinct product families. Large-scale security systems
and central monitoring stations are covered by the STM-42L and
STM-32L models. The LA series of professional fully featured monitors
are ideal for multi-display control rooms, while the LM series of utility
monitors are designed for a wide variety of general applications. For cost
conscious applications, the LP series of standard monitors are the ideal
choice.
All Samsung Techwin’s LCD monitors offer outstanding video
performance, exceptionally high-resolution of SXGA (1280 x 1024) and
WXGA (1366 x 768), superior contrast ratios and fast response times
making them ideally suited for high-performance DVR applications. All
monitors featured in our product line-up automatically select the input
voltage, frequency and television standard (NTSC / PAL).
