When the phone has found a signal, the icon appears. Once the phone is on, it enters Standby mode, which is the phone’s idle state. You can make and receive calls now. 6Q 6WTP +V 1HH To turn your phone off, press and hold until the display goes blank. When the phone is turned off, nothing is displayed on the screen.

The signal strength and battery strength icons will always appear, but other icons appear based on your phone’s operating mode. Signal Strength Roaming No Service Digital Mode New Message Battery Strength Vibrator on Signal strength: This icon always appears when your phone is on, and shows your current signal strength. More lines indicate more signal strength.
Note: The no service indicator will always appear when you turn on your phone. This is not a problem; as soon as service is found, the indicator disappears. Roaming: This icon displays when the phone is outside your carrier’s coverage area and receiving service from another carrier’s network. Message indicator: This icon indicates you have message(s) waiting. The message(s) can be voicemail notification (VMN), page, text, or MiniBrowser message(s).

Hold the battery so that the metal contacts on the base of the battery line up with the metal contacts on the base of the phone. 2. Plug the two-pronged connector on the Travel Charger into the wall and the other end of the cable into the accessory connector at the bottom of the phone. The battery will begin charging. When your phone is in Standby mode, you will typically see the banner (that’s the message displayed when you turn on your phone). If you enter a phone number, you can press to dial it, or press to save it in the Internal Phone Book. Press at any time to return to Standby mode.

If you call someone who has this feature, your phone number will be displayed on their phone.

The phone indicates a missed call by displaying a text notification on the screen.

The change is immediate and affects all menus, messages, and display prompts.

When recording, a 60second timer displays and an alert sounds to indicate when recording time expires. Using the Voice-Activated Dialing option requires that you first train the phone to recognize the name of the person you are calling. The phone provides voice prompts and screen displays to guide you through the recording process. To program the phone for Voice-Activated Dialing: 1. Press to display the Main Menu. 2. Press for Voice Dial. 3. Press for Record. The phone will prompt you to say the name you want to program. 4. Wait for the beep and then say the name.
♦ If the phone does not recognize the name, it prompts ♦ for the name again. If the phone is unable to recognize the name after two attempts, the following message displays: “Cannot recognize name. This feature also prevents needless battery usage because the phone does not respond to any keypresses and turns off the backlight. Note: If you have an incoming call, open the flip to answer it.
