Settings
Development Device ID
This is the identification number for your phone when
using it as a development tool.
Allowing Mock Locations
If you are a developer who is testing a GPS
applications using this device, you can use mock
locations to tell the device that the phone is at different
GPS locations. The phone is allowed to “mock” the
coordinates.
䊳 Press and tap > Settings > Developer options >
Allow mock locations. A checkmark displays to
indicate activation.
Desktop Backup Password
This protects the desktop with a backup password ID.
1. Press and tap > Settings > Developer
options > Desktop backup password.
2. In the Settings screen, enter the current full backup
password, the new password for the full backups,
then enter the new password again.
3. Tap Set backup password to save.
User Interface Options
Configure the user interface by determining the way
the screen behaves when using applications or
displaying data.
1. Press and tap > Settings > Developer
options.
2. Tap the checkbox next to each option to enable:
䡲 Strict mode: Makes the screen flash when
applications perform long operations on the main
thread.
䡲 Show pointer location: Highlights the data that was
touched on the screen.
䡲 Show touches: Displays touch interactions on the
screen.
䡲 Show screen updates: Areas of the screen flash
when they update.
