High Brightness and Contrast Ratio

High power consumption has often been

pointed out as a big weakness of plasma

displays. It’s a problem that can’t be resolved any further

within the confines of conventional plasma display cell

structure technology. So Samsung changed the entire panel

structure from rectangular to octagonal cells. The result is

high brightness levels of up to 1300 cd/m

and contrast

ratios of up to 30,000:1 with lower power consumption.
