A2 Verify whether the same network key (encryption
key) has been entered for both theAP and the
computer.Thenetwork keyisanencryptionkeyfor
encryptingthedatatransmittedbetweentheAPand
the computer. It is recommended setting the network
keymanually.
► Check the AP Settings
FortheAPsettings,refertotheUserGuideprovided
bytheAPmanufacturer.
A3 Verifywhethertheenvironmentissuitableforusing
awirelessLAN.Theuseofa wirelessLANmaybe
restricted according to the environment and distance.
Obstaclessuch aswallsor doorsaffectthe useof
a wireless LAN. Install theAP in a high andopen
space,50cmfromthewallandfarremovedfromany
otherradiosignalsources.
A4 VerifywhethertheAPisoperatingproperly.
● When theAP isnotoperatingnormally, turnoff
theAP,waitashortwhile,andturnitonagain.
● Verify whether theAP’s firmware is the most
recentversion. (Contact theAPmanufactureror
theplacewhereyoupurchasedtheAPfordetails
oftheAPrmware.)
A5 Verify whethertheAPhasbeenproperlyconnected
to the network. Verify whether the network is
operatingnormallybyconnectingthewirednetwork
cable,whichhasbeenconnectedtotheAP,toyour
computer.
A6 Che c k the network key sett i n gs (encryption
key) again. When automatic code conversion (a
passphrase function)has been selected and data
communicationisnotfunctioningevenwithanormal
wirelessconnection,itisrecommendedenteringthe
networkkey(encryptionkey)manually.
A7 ChecktheAPsettingsasfollows. (Thefollowing is
recommended for a standard environment and thus
maydifferaccordingtothespecicwirelessnetwork
environment.)
● When severalAPs are presentsimultaneously,
check the channel settings for eachAP.When
different APs are usin g nearby channels,
interference may occurbetweentheelectronic
waves. SettheAP channels further apart from
eachother.(Ex:Ch1,Ch5,Ch9,Ch13)
● WhenanAP’sSSID(ServiceSetID)optionisset
to“Hide”, youcannotsearchforthatAPonthe
computer.Werecommendunselectingthe“Hide”
optionfortheAP.TheSSID is anameusedfor
distinguishing one wireless LAN from another
wirelessLAN.
● It is recommended using Long Preamble.
Preamble is a signal for data transmission
synch r onizat i on. Sh o rt Prea mble ma y be
supportedbysometypesofAPsbutmaycause
compatibilityproblems.
● ItisrecommendedusingastaticIP.
● Sincestatic channel selectionis more reliable
than auto channelselection, it is recommended
usingastaticchannel.
