Enhanced 9-1-1 (E 9-1-1) Information
ThisphonefeaturesGPS(GlobalPositioningSystem),whichisusedforE9-1-1emergencylocation
service,whereavailable.
Whenyouplaceacallto9-1-1,theGPSfeatureofyourphoneprovidesinformationaboutyour
approximatelocation.Dependingonseveralvariables,includingavailabilityandaccesstosatellite
signals,itmaytakeupto30secondsormoretodetermineandreportyourapproximatelocation.
Important: Alwaysreportyourlocationtothe9-1-1operatorwhenplacinganemergencycall.
Somedesignatedemergencycalltakers,knownasPublicSafetyAnsweringPoints(PSAPs),may
notbeequippedtoreceiveGPSlocationinformationfromyourphone.
Receive Phone Calls
Whenyoureceiveaphonecallfromacontact,theIncomingcallscreenappearsanddisplaysthe
callerIDicon,name,andphonenumberofthecallingparty.Whenyoureceiveaphonecallfrom
someonewhoisnotstoredinContacts,onlythedefaultcallerIDiconandphonenumberappearon
theIncomingcallscreen.
Note:Ifyourphoneisturnedoff,allcallsautomaticallygotovoicemail.
Answer an Incoming Call
Thefollowingprocedureshowsyouhowtoansweranincomingcall.

Whenthecallcomesin,touchandslide totherighttoanswerthecall.
Mute the Ringing Sound
Youcanmutetheringtonewithoutrejectingthecallbydoingeitherofthefollowing.
n PresstheVolumeKeydown.
n Placethephonefacedownonalevelsurface.SeeMotionsandGesturesSettingsforoptions,
includingtheMute/pauseMotiontomuteincomingcallsbyturningoverthephone.
Reject an Incoming Call
Thefollowingprocedureshowsyouhowtorejectandincomingcall.

Reject a Call with a Text Message
Youcanautomaticallyrejectanincomingcallbysendingatextmessagetothecaller.
