Anewmessageicon( )alsoappearsinthenotificationsareaofthestatusbartonotifyyouofa
newtextormultimediamessage.TheMessagesapplicationicon(ifshownontheHomescreen)
alsodisplaysthenumberofnewmessages( ).
Toopenthemessage,pressandholdthestatusbar,andthenslidethestatusbardowntoopenthe
Notificationspanel.Tapthenewmessagetoopenandreadit.Forinformationonreadingandreply-

Managing Message Conversations
Textandmultimediamessagesthataresenttoandreceivedfromacontact(oranumber)are
groupedintoconversationsormessagethreadsintheAllmessagesscreen.Threadedtextormul-
timediamessagesletyouseeexchangedmessages(similartoachatprogram)withacontactonthe
screen.
