AVCHD (Advanced Video Codec High Definition) • This player can play back AVCHD format discs. These discs are normally recorded and used in camcorders. • The AVCHD format is a high definition digital video camera format. • The MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format compresses images with greater efficiency than the conventional image compressing format. • Some AVCHD discs use the “x.v.Color” format. This player can play back AVCHD discs that use “x.v.Color” format. • “x.v.Color” is a trademark of Sony Corporation.

Connections Connecting to a TV Case 1 : Connecting to a TV with an HDMI Cable - Best Quality (Recommended) 1. Using an HDMI cable, connect the HDMI OUT terminal on the player to the HDMI IN terminal of your TV. 2. Turn on the player and TV. 3. Press the input selector on your TV remote control until the HDMI signal from the player appears on your TV screen.

We recommend using an AP (Access Point) or IP router for the connection. Connections Installing the Blu-ray Disc Player You can install your player on a stand or hang it on the wall. When installing the player, please make sure that enough space is left to insert a disc. If you do not, player will not operate normally. Installation Precautions • If you install your player on a wall, the wall must be flat and vertical. • Avoid installing the player in areas with high temperature or humidity, or on a wall that cannot sustain the weight of the set.
04 Case 2 : Installing on a wall 2. Place the Wall Bracket on the wall so that the arrow side faces upward and use four screws (not included) to fix it on the wall. Drive the screws into a stud or into mollies for secure support. Change the brightness of the top panel. • Auto : Dim during playback. • Dim : Dim the display window. • Bright : Brighten the display window. Light Effect You can adjust the light effect on the player. • Always On : Activate Light Effect at all times. It is recommended for continuous display for commercial or demonstration use. • Auto : Activate Light Effect when you turn the player on or off and when you insert or eject a disc. This is recommended for home use. • Off : Turn Light off.

Appendix 08 Troubleshooting PROBLEM SOLUTION No operation can be performed with the remote control. • Check the batteries in the remote control. They may need replacing. • Operate the remote control at a distance of no more than 20 feet. • Remove batteries and hold down one or more buttons for several minutes to drain the microprocessor inside the remote control to reset it. Reinstall batteries and try to operate the remote control again. Disc does not play.
Appendix Forgot password PROBLEM SOLUTION • Press the STOP ( ) button (on top panel) for more than 5 seconds with no disc inside. All settings including the password will revert to the factory settings. Don’t use this unless absolutely necessary. • When the factory default settings are restored, all stored user BD data is deleted. If you experience other problems.
I cannot connect to the BD-LIVE server. • Check whether the network connection is successful or not by using the Network Status menu. (See page 42) • Check whether the USB memory device is connected to the player. • The memory device must have at least 1GB of free space to accommodate the BD-LIVE service.
