3 Functional Modules
Both the basic chassis and expansion chassis have six slots in which modules can
be mounted. The modules shown in the table below can be mounted in the slots de-
pending on the configuration:

3.1 Control Modules
This section describes the configuration and functions of the MCP, the main control
module that controls all the functions of the OfficeServ 7200, and the LCP, the mi-
nor control module.
3.1.1 MCP
The MCP controls all the functions of the OfficeServ 7200 and is mounted in Slot 0
of the basic chassis. The MCP performs voice switching, processes signals and
manages subscriber terminals.
Major Functions
The MCP performs the following functions:
y Operates applications through the LAN interface.
y Installation using the SmartMedia module.
y Backs up the database.
y Provides ports for the Universal Asynchronous Receiver and Transmitter
(UART) test.
y Controls conferencing, detects caller IDs and multi-frequency, and controls
door phones.
y Functions as the internal/external Music on Hold source or loud/common bell.
y Sets the time and shows table time.
y Functions as the Analogue Phase Locked Loop (APLL) for the synchronization
of digital subscribers.
