English User’s Guide for KT subscribers This user’s guide describes common functions of touch screen Samsung Anycall phones sold in Korea. Depending on your model, the descriptions in this guide may differ somewhat from your phone’s actual operation. Use this guide as basic reference. To unlock the keys, press and hold . Lock the phone To protect your phone from unauthorized use, you can set a password and lock your phone.
From a pop-up window On some phones, you can tap the top of display on the Standby screen to open a pop-up window. In the pop-up window, you can access functions or applications. With widgets Getting started You can use widgets to easily access applications or functions by tapping Widgets from the Standby screen. Open the widget tool bar and drag the widget to the Standby screen. With the Cube Some phones include the Cube launcher for accessing applications. To open the Cube launcher, press and hold .
Set wallpaper for Idle mode You can select wallpapers and set various options for the Standby or Widgets screens. To set the wallpaper and change options, 1 From the Standby screen, tap Menu > Settings > Display Settings > Wallpaper. Getting started 2 Set the options for various screens as desired. Getting started Send a multimedia (MMS) message You can send multimedia messages with images or files attached. Any time you exceed 90 English characters (45 Hangeul characters) or attach a multimedia item to a text message, the message will be automatically converted to a multimedia message. Messages sent to email addresses are also converted to MMS messages.
Mobile messenger You can chat directly with other KT users that are stored as contacts in your Phonebook or those that you add manually to the Mobile messenger. You can then tap the photo to make a call or send a message. My HapticTone Create a custom haptic feedback and set options for using the feedback. 1 From the Standby screen, tap Menu > Applications > My Haptic Tone. Settings Call settings Menu descriptions Call rejection You can reject calls in various ways, including manually rejecting incoming calls or blocking all calls from specified numbers. Manually reject an incoming call To reject an incoming call, press and hold . Power Save Mode Set the display brightness and options for saving battery power by dimming or turning off the display. Menu descriptions Backlighting Duration Set how long the backlight will remain on when the phone is idle and whether or not to lock the phone automatically when turning off the display. Screen Brightness Adjust the display brightness or set the phone to automatically adjust the brightness based on ambient lighting. Touch Calibration Calibrate the display to recognize your touch inputs.
Receiving options for SOS messages 1 From the Standby screen, tap Menu > Settings > Anycall SOS > Receiving Options. 2 Tap On and tap the type of alert (sound/vibration). Fake Call You can simulate fake incoming calls when you want to get out of meetings or unwanted conversations or when you are in an emergency.
Change the phone lock settings 1 From the Standby screen, tap Menu > Settings > Security. 2 Enter your password and tap OK. Menu descriptions 3 On the Phone Lock, tap Manual (Press#) and select a phone lock option. Change USIM settings You can change the following USIM lock settings: ● USIM PIN Lock: Set the phone to automatically lock the USIM card when you turn off the phone. This setting protects your USIM card from unauthorized access if your phone is lost or stolen.
General settings Select a display language and set convenience functions, such as Touch Auto Lock and Etiquette Mode. Menu descriptions Touch auto lock Set the phone to automatically turn off the display and lock the keys when the phone is idle for some time. To unlock the keys, press and hold . ● When you set Touch Auto Lock to Off, the phone will turn off the display when the phone is idle for some time, but will not lock the keys. To use the phone, press any key.
Message Menu descriptions This service allows you to decorate your text message with contents downloaded from the wireless internet, or view email messages. You can also use a mobile messenger to chat directly with other people. SHOW Mobile Site This menu allows you to access various SHOW wireless internet sites such as SHOW Internet, SHOW Video, SHOW Download pack, and dosirak. SHOW internet Access the SHOW internet portal to download various contents and access services.
USIM With a USIM card installed in your phone, you can access secure banking, transportation, credit card, and securities services. Menu descriptions Notes ● Available services may vary by financial institution. ● Because your USIM card contains sensitive information, such as credit card and bank accounts numbers, take care not to lose or damage your card and do not give out your USIM password to other. SHOW Video Menu descriptions SHOW Video is a KT-only service that allows you to enjoy various videos and television programs. Individual contents or TV programs may be free or may require a fee. You may also incur additional network charges for accessing SHOW Video. You can capture the current screen from SHOW Video contents during playback and quickly access them later. While viewing content, tap the top right corner of the screen.
TV (TDMB) Use the TDMB service to watch mobile broadband television or listen to radio stations. Extend your phone’s antenna completely to improve reception. Menu descriptions Automatically scan for available TV stations 1 From the Standby screen, tap Menu > Applications > TV (TDMB). When you launch this application for the first time, your phone will begin to automatically scan for stations. If you have launched this application previously, the phone will tune to the last station you were watching.
Appendix Safety and usage information This safety and usage information should be followed to safely use your phone. Protect the phone and batteries from damage Appendix ● Avoid exposing your phone and batteries to very cold or very hot temperatures (below 0° C/32° F or above 45° C/113° F). ● Extreme temperatures can cause the deformation of the phone and reduce the charging capacity and life of your phone and batteries. ● Prevent batteries from contacting metal objects, as this can create a connection between the + and - terminals of your batteries and lead to temporary or permanent battery damage.
