Taking Photos
You may take still images while in REC mode and store the images on tape. This function is
useful when you want to take a snapshot of a subject while you are using the camcorder.
If you want to take a higher resolution still image, switch to (CAMERA) mode (refer to page
96).
You can take photos using the remote control.
You can search still pictures recorded on a tape (refer to page 77).
1. Turn your camcorder on by setting the Power Switch to REC mode.
The STBY indicator appears on the LCD monitor.
2. Press the PHOTO button halfway down to focus the image.
The indicator appears on the LCD monitor.
3. Within 2 seconds, fully press down the PHOTO button and then release it to record the picture.
If you do not want to record, release the PHOTO button before fully pressing it down.
4. The camcorder returns to STBY (Stand-by) mode.
It takes about 6 ~ 7 seconds to record the still image onto the tape.
Releasing the PHOTO button after having the focus by pressing the PHOTO button halfway down to gain focus, cancels the
shooting.
Pressing the PHOTO button while recording video stops the video recording and saves the still image captured at that
moment. It takes approx. 6 ~ 7 seconds to save the image and then resumes the recording.
You can use the remote control to take a photo by using the PHOTO button on the remote control. Pressing the PHOTO
button on the remote control records the still image at once with automatic focusing.
