14 Alternative routes at route planning

Once a route is planned the user can select the Find

Alternative option in the Current Route menu in order

to get two alternatives for his route. The system will

calculate distinctive alternatives by penalizing appro-

ximately 80% of the route. The user can compare alte-

rnatives by difference in time and/or length.

15 Alternative routes while driving-decide by steering

Based on the received traffic information the system

calculates routes in the background and proposes an

alternative route if a faster route is found.
