RangeFinderperformsthefollowingbasicfunctions:
RangeFinding:
o Sendsout“allcall”(broadcast)interrogations,listenstorepliesandreports
theinformation,
includingrange,tothecommandandcontrolinterface.
o Transmitsat1030MHzModeA,CandSAllCallATCRBS(PPM)interrogations.

o Range is limited by received signal strength and Minimum Threshold (MTL) =‐81 dBm @
RangeFinder
SMA.
ADSBOut:
o Provideshostcomputercontrolled Automatic DependentSurveillanceBroadcast(ADSB) Out
capability.
o Transmits ES messages at regular intervals, providing Position, Velocity, Identification and
Category,Emergency/PriorityStatus,TargetStateandSta tus, AircraftOperationalStatus,and

Altitude data for the ES can
be based on the Range Finder’s integrated altitude
encoder,oroneprovidedexternaltotheRangeFinder.
GPS data, also included in the ES, is provided to the Range Finder from the avionics
systemintegrator.
Receives Installation, Flight ID, Operational and GNSS navigation data from Host
Computeror
directlyfromsensors.
