ì When a connection to a WiMAX network has been established, click on Next to make
fine adjustments to the antenna.
The quality of the radio connection is represented graphically by a signal strength bar.
The longer the bar is, the better the radio connection. Try to obtain the best possible
radio connection setting.
ì If you are unable to check the display of the signal strength on the screen while
aligning the antenna:
Activate the Audible feedback option to obtain information about the signal
strength by means of beeps. The closer together the sequence of beeps, the better
the connection quality.
ì Turn or move the Gigaset SE680 WiMAX modem or turn the antenna a little at a time
and note the signal strength display. Use this to move the antenna to the position
with the best signal strength.
If you have turned your Gigaset SE680 WiMAX modem or the antenna too far, the con-
nection might break. You should then return to the alignment that provided a connec-
tion and repeat the procedure for establishing a connection to the WiMAX network.
Then make any fine adjustments step by step.
When your Gigaset SE680 WiMAX modem or external antenna is optimally aligned:
ì Click End to close the Basic Setup Wizard and apply the settings you have made.
Make sure that in future your Gigaset SE680 WiMAX modem or external antenna is
always in the set position.
