(4) Operation is not normal (the instructions in this Guide describe the proper operation); (5) If
you drop or damage the electronic equipment; or (6) If the electronic equipment exhibits a
distinct change in performance.
• Upon completion of any service or repairs to the electronic equipment (home terminal), the
service technician will perform safety checks to determine that the equipment is in proper
operating condition.
• The electronic equipment was qualified under test conditions that included the use of the
supplied cables between system components. Use only the provided power and interface
cables and install them properly.
• Different types of cord sets may be used for connections to the electronic equipment. Use only
a main-line cord that complies with the applicable electronic equipment safety compliance.
• Installation of electronic equipment must be in accordance with national wiring codes and
conform to local regulations.
Connect the manufacturer supplied AC to DC power adapter. Only use a manufacturer
supplied and approved power adapter. The DCIWA384 UHD requires the use of a 12 VDC,
3800 mA power adapter in compliance with LPS of clause 2.5 of IEC /UL 60950-1 Edition. The
DGCI384 UHD requires the use of a 12 VDC, 5000 mA power adapter in compliance with LPS
of clause 2.5 of IEC /UL 60950-1 Edition 2. Always first plug the mains adapter lead into the
DCIWA384 UHD or DGCI384 UHD, then the mains lead into the mains adapter, and finally the
mains lead into the mains socket. If you do not follow this order of connections you may get an
electric shock. Make sure that the mains lead is properly inserted into the power supply unit,
and that it is correctly pushed into the recess. It is very important to push the mains lead until
the recess bottom. If it is incorrectly connected this may cause a risk of fire or electric shock.
• The coaxial connector “cable” of this product is intended to be connected to a system outlet
whose shielding of the coaxial cable is imperatively earthed, in accordance with clause 7.3 of
IEC /UL 60950- 1 Edition 2.
• To reduce the risk of fire, use only CSA-certified telecommunication line cord, or national
equivalent for your modem.
Handling optional, re-chargeable battery (for modems). Your modem might include a
chargeable Lithium-Ion battery to provide stand-by operation in the event of an AC power
failure.
Use only the battery approved by manufacturer. Respect the security instructions on the
battery identification label. Caution: Do not replace the battery with an incorrect type, or expose
the battery to excessive heat, fire or liquid. Any of these conditions can cause product failure
and a risk of fire or battery explosion. Do not incinerate, disassemble, crush, or puncture the
battery. Keep away from children. Recycle or dispose of used batteries promptly and in
accordance with local ordinances.
Do not use the telephone to report a gas leak in the vicinity of the leak.
• Rewind Live TV contains small parts that could lead to a choking hazard. Not intended for
children under 3 years of age.
