3.2 Connecting to the Internet

When the modem is correctly connected and the "diagnostics - USB" icon installed, you still have to

set up your Internet connection.

The SAGEM F@st™ 908/948 modem is compatible with the following two Internet connection

modes:

¾ PPP (see section 3.2.1),

¾ DHCP (see section 3.2.2).

Check with your Internet Access Provider (IAP) to find out which connection mode

is available on your ADSL-compatible telephone line.

3.2.1 PPP connection mode

1 Click the Remote access icon in the

settings bar at the bottom of the desktop

to display the list of commands inherent

in this icon.

Note: Before connection, the remote

access state is Idle.

Select Open Remote Access.

2 The Remote Access screen appears.

Enter your "User name" and "Password".

These parameters will be supplied by

your Internet Access Provider (IAP).

Check the "Save password" box for

subsequent users if you want.

Note: The Number field needs to

contain "123456".
