A.1 Checking the assignment of an IP address
A range of IP addresses is assigned for each interface (see section D.1).
A.1.1 In Windows
In Windows 98
¾ Click Start, select Run, enter winipcfg then click OK; the dedicated application appears.
¾ Check that the IP address entry contains a value other than 0.0.0.0 (192.168.1.10 for
example) for the local area network (LAN) interface connected to the modem.
In Windows XP, 2000 and Me
¾ Click Start, select Run, enter cmd then click OK; the command prompt window appears.
Enter ipconfig then confirm by pressing Enter.
¾ Check that the IP Address entry contains a value other than 0.0.0.0 (192.168.1.10 for
example) for the local area network (LAN) interface connected to the modem.
A.1.2 In Mac (MacOS X for example)
¾ Click the Apple in the menu bar.
¾ Select System Preferences, then click the Network icon.
¾ Check that the IP Address entry contains a value other than 0.0.0.0 (192.168.1.10 for
example) for the local area network (LAN) interface connected to the modem.
