Section 1 Power Problems
Is PWR led (D20) on? • Check incoming voltage on J1, Pins 1, 2. Power should be
minimum of 16.5 v. and not over 28v AC or DC
• If DC voltage Positive terminal needs to on Pin 1
• Dead short in eld, the positive 12v from control panel has
dead short to earth ground somewhere. Disconnect all
terminal block except for main power, remove battery and
cycle power. Did led (D20) come on? If not replace MAC-
4R-PCB. If yes, continue
Aux 12v Power on? • Check terminal blocks J12, Pin 4; J3 Pin 4; J11 Pin4; J4
Pin 4; and J13 Pins 1-4 Voltage should be at 12-13.5 vdc
• Check terminal blocks J5, Pin6; J6, Pin 6; J9, Pin 6; J10
Pin 6 voltage should be at 12-13.5 vdc
• Dead short in eld, the positive 12v from control panel has
dead short to earth ground somewhere. Disconnect all
terminal block except for main power, remove battery and
cycle power. Did power return to all pins? If not replace
MAC-4R-PCB. If yes, continue
• Plug eld wire in one terminal block at a time until power
drops out again. Repair eld wire and repeat this step.
Check Ground? • Take a VOM (set on continuity) and check J1, Pin 3 to
Earth or structural ground. Meter should show continuity.
Check Battery? • Check terminal block J2 Pin 1, it should be 13.5 volts dc.
• Could have a bad Gel Cell battery, Disconnect Gel Cell
battery from MAC-4R, measure again. Did voltage come
back? Yes, Continue
• With battery disconnected take voltage reading across
battery terminals, voltage should measure 12vdc, if not
replace battery.
