Release the goodness.
Whole nuts and seeds are a great natural source of
nutrition. They are rich in protein, B-vitamins, Omega
and fibre. Due to their oil and essential fatty acid content,
its possible, if processed correctly, to transform nuts and
seeds into delicious and spreadable nut butter. Peanut
butter is, of course, the most famous, but there’s a world of
other nuts and seeds to explore from sunflower seeds to
pistachios and Brazil nuts, just to name a few.
Each has their own distinct flavour and nutrition profile
and each can be made into a healthy butter alternative, a
rich sauce, or a tasty dip.
Many nut butters are available commercially. However
stabilizing agents, sugars, additives and preservatives are
often added to extend shelf life.
To get the freshest flavour and maximum nutrition,
nothing can beat making your nut butter on demand
from whole, fresh or roasted nuts at home without the
additives.
But how do you turn a dry nut into a creamy butter? The
Bossgrinds nuts to fine particles using very high blade
velocity, releasing the oils from within the nuts and seeds,
turning the once dry structure into a paste. The oils are
released during processing, and the folding motion of
ProKinetix blade and bowl system keeps oils relatively
cool to keep nutrients intact.
