1. Disassemble Old Induction Module Assembly Fuel
System
Always wear proper eye protection when removing
retaining rings. Use correctly sized retaining ring pliers
that are in good condition.
a. Remove the external retaining ring from the top
of each fuel fitting on the induction module.
Discard the retaining rings.
b. Lift both fuel lines off the fuel fittings. Be
prepared to clean up any fuel which may drip
from the lines.
Inspect the fuel lines for any cuts, chafing, cracks or
other signs of age and/or wear. Failure to replace faulty
fuel lines may result in personal injury and/or property
damage.
c. Clean the ends of the fuel lines. Do not use
abrasive means to clean the fuel line sealing
surfaces. It is critical that the sealing surfaces
are clean and retain their original surface finish.
d. Using a TORX T50 driver, remove the TORX
sleeve bolt from the retainer plate. Remove the
retainer plate. See Picture 4.
e. Remove the two fuel fittings. Do not damage
the O-ring sealing surfaces and surfaces near
the O-rings during removal. See Picture 5.
f. Remove the fuel pressure regulator and
regulator bracket bolt. Do not damage the
regulator while removing it. It will be used in the
S&S
®
VFI fuel rail.
g. Remove all the O-rings from the fuel fittings and
pressure regulator and wipe them clean. Do not
use abrasive means to clean the fuel fittings or
pressure regulator. It is critical that the sealing
surfaces are clean and retain their original
surface finish.
2. Assemble S&S VFI Fuel Rail and Fuel Lines
a. Install new O-rings, included with kit, onto the
fuel fittings and pressure regulator. Use care to
not tear the O-rings. Ensure plastic back-up
washer is located correctly. Be sure the O-rings
are put in their correct places. The O-rings
should fit like the original ones. (See Picture 8.)
b. Install new O-rings, included with kit, onto the
ends of the screw-in style fuel line fittings. The
O-rings should fit like the original ones. Later
style push-to-connect fuel lines do not require
