b. Attach a long spacer to the top right hole using
a
1
/4 -20 x .75 socket head cap screw with pre-
applied thread locker. Tighten screw to 16-18 ft-
lbs (192-216 in-lbs). See Picture 38.
c. Place a throttle body gasket between the
backplate and throttle body and attach the
backplate to the throttle body. Insert
1
/4 -20 x .75
socket head cap screws with pre-applied thread
locker into the top left and top right mounting
holes and thread in a few turns.
d. Coat the long
1
/4 -20 x 1.25 socket head cap
screw with Loctite
®
242 or equivalent and insert
from the back side through the bottom right
throttle body mounting hole. Attach a long
spacer to the screw and thread in a few turns.
See Picture 38.
e. Insert a
1
/4 -20 x .75 screw with pre-applied
thread locker from the backside through the
bottom left throttle body mounting hole and
thread in a few turns into the backplate.
See Picture 39.
3. Backplate Bracket and Fastener Tightening
a. Tighten the four screws which hold the backplate
to the throttle body to 6.7-7.5 ft-lbs (80-90 in-lbs).
b. Attach the backplate bracket to the head
breather fitting, using shims to allow bracket to
contact the backplate. Install screw #17-0346
into the head breather fitting. See Picture 40.
c. Install a
1
/4 -20 x .75 socket head cap screw
through the top hole of the backplate and
through the slot in the bracket. Use the provided
washer and nut on the end of the screw.
d. Tighten screw #17-0346 to 20-22 ft-lbs (240-
264 in-lbs).
e. Tighten the
1
/4 -20 x .75 screw and nut to 8-10 ft-lbs
(96-120 in-lbs).
f. Install the remaining #17-0346 screw into the front
head breather fitting.
