b. Using the same sequence as stated above,
tighten each screw until a clamping load is felt,
then tighten an additional
1
/8 turn.
c. Tighten the four (4)
5
/16 -18 manifold to head
screws to 6-10 ft-lbs (72-120 in-lbs).
d. Tighten the four (4) throttle body to manifold
screws to 6.7-7.5 ft-lbs (80-90 in-lbs).
e. Tighten the four (4) runner to throttle body
screws to 6.7-7.5 ft-lbs (80-90 in-lbs).
f. Tighten the two (2) support bracket to head
breather fitting screws, #17-0346, to 20-22 ft-lbs
(240-264 in-lbs). A special rocker box tool is
shown being used on the front screw.
See Pictures 33 and 34.
g. Tighten the two (2) support bracket to runner
screws to 17-19 ft-lbs (204-228 in-lbs).

h. Attach the two air filters. See Picture 36.
i. Skip the Teardrop installation instructions and
continue to Section H, Final Installation and
Checks.

1. Manifolds/Throttle Body Fastener Tightening
Sequence
a. Gently tighten each fastener, starting with the

/16 -18 manifold to head screws, and tighten until
a clamping load is just felt, then back off
1
/8 turn.
Continue this procedure with the four (4) throttle
body to manifold screws.
b. Using the same sequence as above, tighten
each screw until a clamping load is felt, then
tighten an additional 1/8 turn.
c. Tighten the

/16 -18 manifold to head screws to
6-10 ft-lbs (72-120 in-lbs).
d. Tighten the four (4) throttle body to manifold
screws to 6.7-7.5 ft-lbs (80-90 in-lbs).
2. Install Backplate
a. Attach the short spacer to the pointed end of
the backplate using a
1
/4 -20 x .75 socket head
cap screw with pre-applied thread locker.
Spacer attaches to side of backplate with the
radiused inlets. Tighten screw to 16-18 ft-lbs
(192-216 in-lbs. See Picture 37.
