Enhancing your system
The connection cord is not included. Purchase a commer-
cially available cord as shown below.

Listening to the playback sounds of
portable audio player, etc.
1 Use a connection cord to connect the portable audio
player, etc. to the AUDIO IN jack.
2 Press the ON/STANDBY button to turn the power on.

Play the connected equipment. If volume level of the
connected device is too high, sound distortion may
occur. Should this happen, adjust the volume of the
connected device.
Note:
To prevent noise interference, place the unit away from
the television.
Headphones
Optical In
Do not set the volume on to maximum at switch on.
Excessive sound pressure from earphones and head-
phones can cause hearing loss.
Before plugging in or unplugging the headphone, re-
duce the volume.
Be sure your headphone has a 1/8” (3.5 mm) diameter
plug and impedance between 16 and 50 ohms. The
recommended impedance is 32 ohms.
Plugging in the headphone disconnects the speakers au-
tomatically.
Connect to the TV using an optical digital cable.

To select OPTICAL function:
Press the FUNCTION button repeatedly on the main unit
or INPUT button on the remote control until “Optical In”
appears on the display.
Note: TV Audio set up must be in PCM format.
Press the INPUT button (remote control) or
FUNCTION button repeatedly (main unit) to select
AUDIO IN function.
