SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES Do not use near underground electric cables, telephone lines, pipes, or hoses. If in doubt, contact your utility or telephone company to locate underground services. Rotating tines can cause severe injury, keep all body parts away from rotating tines. Use extreme caution when reversing or pulling the machine towards you. Always be sure of your footing; keep a firm hold on the handles and walk; never run.

ASSEMBLY NOTE: The unit will not operate properly if the tines are installed incorrectly. If you notice a problem with the cultivating operation of the unit, check for proper tine positioning. CAUTION: Wear heavy gloves when installing, removing, or adjusting the tiller tines. With wear, the tiller tines may become sharper. JOINING THE POWER HEAD TO THE TILLER ATTACHMENT See Figure 3. The tiller attachment connects to the power head by means of a coupler device.
OPERATION WARNING: WARNING: Do not allow familiarity with this product to make you careless. Remember that a careless fraction of a second is sufficient to inflict serious injury. WARNING: Always wear eye protection with side shields marked to comply with ANSI Z87.1, along with hearing protection. Failure to do so could result in objects being thrown into your eyes and other possible serious injuries. Keep hands and feet away from the rotating tines. Rotating tines will cause serious personal injury.
MAINTENANCE NARROW TINE PATTERN WARNING: When servicing, use only identical replacement parts. Use of any other parts may create a hazard or cause product damage. See Figure 7. When tilling in confined areas or rows, a narrow tine pattern may be required. For a narrow tine pattern: Remove hitch pin from each side of the tiller. Remove the left and right outer tines (A and D). Remove felt washers. WARNING: Always wear eye protection with side shields marked to comply with ANSI Z87.
