Congratulations on purchasing a Rear View Backup Camera System! With this manual you will be able to properly install and operate the unit. INTRODUCTION The Backup Camera System is intended to be installed as a supplement aid to your standard rear view mirror that already exists in your vehicle.
Please read the entire manual and follow the instructions and warnings carefully. Failure to do so can cause serious damage and/or injury, including loss of life. Be sure to obey all applicable local traffic and motor vehicle regulations as it pertains to this product. Improper installation will void manufacturer’s warranty. Before drilling please check that no cable or wiring is on the other side of the wall. Please clamp all wires securely to reduce the possibility of them being damaged while vehicle is in use. Keep all cables away from hot/moving parts and electrical noisy components. BEFORE YOU BEGIN We recommend doing a benchmark test before installation to insure that all components are working properly.
BEFORE YOU BEGIN Warning! 1. Do not watch the video while driving unless you are monitoring the rear view camera display. Note: In order for this camera to function properly, you must use a radio harness and OBD genie. Choose your connection type based on the equipment you need.
RCA Installation Remove the spare tire and attach the camera to the spare tire carrier. Run the cable through the rear vent to the inside of the car. Remove the two plastic covers on tailgate to receive the camera cable. Remove the panels on the passenger side rear cargo area. Connect cable you ran through the tailgate to the red/yellow adaptor and then to the long yellow cable. Remove panels and run the yellow cable along the carpet closest to the rear/front door.
INSTALLATION The last step is to hook up power. Remove the rear passenger brake light and run the power cable down the body grommet. Connect the black to the black and the red to the white/grey wire (2017 Jeep Wrangler). Zip tie or tape all connections to secure system. Put the panels and spare tire back on. The final step is to have a Chrysler Jeep Technician program the head unit so it recognizes the camera.
