CRACK PREVENTION/WATER PROOFING MEMBRANE
Best practice procedures for tile installation projects call for treatment of existing hairline cracks in the foundation (or joints
between cement boards). These are weak areas of the subfloor and should be strengthened with a crack prevention membrane in
order to help prevent hairline cracks from developing in the tiled floor. For new slabs that will continue to settle, we recommend
application across the full slab. For existing foundations, only the hairline cracks or cement board joints need to be treated.
HydraFlex also acts as a waterproofing membrane for wet areas and outdoor foundations.
