This coating system is designed for new or old uncoated

r
previously coated industrial concrete floors exposed to h
eavy
foot and rubber-tired vehicle traffic.
The coating is also s

for use in areas of intermittent chemical spills, splashes

power washings. The coating has excellent abrasion,

and chemical

NEW, UNCOATED CONCRETE:
New concrete should be allowed

o
cure for a minimum of 30 days before application of any

If there is any doubt about the dryness of the concrete,

a test by simply placing a weighted rubber mat, plastic sheet
o

other n

material on the surface for 24 hours.
C

k
the underside of the mat and concrete for signs of moisture.
The substrate will be darker
if
damp. If moisture is found,

ll

w
additional drying time (10-14
days) and repeat test. If

persists, concrete surface cannot be coated. Remove oil,

r
t
,
grease and other chemical contaminants by cleaning with

3599 Industrial Cleaner/Degreaser, detergent, o

other suitable cleaner. Rinse with water. Etch concrete with

Cleaning & Etching Solution. Rinse thoroughly and

and allow to dry. Very dense,

o

s
or chemically

ea
t
e
d
concrete may require acid etching, abrasive blasting or
sa
nd

ng
to assure proper coating adhesion. Determine porosity by p

u
r
i
ng
one ounce of water onto the concrete. If water soaks in,
t
h
e
surface is porous enough for coating. If water beads up on
t
h
e
concrete, the surface is not porous and treatment is
w
a
rr
a
n
t
e
d
.
The presence of laitance (fine white particles) will also require
a
c
i
d
etching, abrasive blasting, sanding or abrading to assure
r
e
m
ova
l
.
PREVIOUSLY COATED CONCRETE:
Remove loose dirt, dust a
nd
paint by sweeping or vacuum cleaning. Remove grease, oil,
fl
oo
r
compound or wax as indicated above, in the
new, un
c
o
a
t
e
d
concrete
section. Very glossy or hard coatings should be
li
gh
t
l
y
sanded to insure maximum adhesion. The 6500 system will
n
o
t
lift most previous coatings. Concrete floor areas which
r
e
qu
i
r
e
patching should be free of dirt, oil, grease and other
c
h
e
m
i
c
a
l
contaminants as indicated above, in the
new, uncoated
c
o
n
c
r
e
t
e
section. Loose cement and previous paint should also be
r
e
m
ove
d
.
The 5499 Concrete Patching Compound, or Turbokrete
C

c

Patching Compound can be used to repair damaged areas o
f
