DESCRIPTION AND USES
Rust-Oleum
®
Roll Roofing Adhesive is an asbestos-free,
fibrated, cold-process asphalt adhesive for modified bitumen
membrane systems. Rust-Oleum Roll Roofing Adhesive is
designed for application as a cold process interply and
aggregate-surfacing adhesive for roof systems over
approved roof insulation and base sheets.

PRODUCT APPLICATION
SURFACE PREPARATION
Replace all wet insulation, deteriorated deck and wood
components. Install roof insulation or base sheet. Ensure
area to be covered is dry with no ponding water.
APPLICATION
Starting a low point of roof, embed asphalt coated base sheet
in a uniform continuous application of Rust-Oleum Roll
Roofing Adhesive using spray, brush or squeegee. Apply
membrane in a fresh application of Rust-Oleum Roll Roofing
Adhesive. Lap 4” (100mm) minimum; end laps 6” (150mm)
minimum. Offset laps from base sheet laps. Stagger end laps
36” (approx. 1m) minimum. Apply pressure to end lap areas
to assure positive adhesion. To assure complete and uniform
adhesion adhesive should exude past lap edges.

For Airless Spray: Use a minimum 2200 psi with an
minimum 3 gallon per minute flow rate using a reversible
spray tip with 0.052" to 0.072" orifice.
To Squeegee: Use a triangular notched head to provide 30-
35 mil thick uniform application.
SURFACING OPTIONS:
Gravel: Apply Rust-Oleum Roll Roofing Adhesive over roof
surface at 5 gal/100 ft

). Immediately broadcast

) of new, clean aggregate
into adhesive. Aggregate shall conform to ASTM D 1863.
Roof Coatings: Allow for a minimum of 28 day cure period
for granule surfaced membranes that are adhered in
Rust-Oleum Roll Roofing Adhesive prior to the application of
Rust-Oleum Roof Coatings.
DRY TIME: Dries to touch in 24 hours at 77°F and 50%
humidity. Full cure is achieved in 1 week. Environmental or
site specific conditions will vary cure time.
CLEAN UP: May be cleaned with mineral spirits.
STORAGE AND DISPOSAL: Keep product locked up. DO
NOT FREEZE. Dispose of contents/container to an
appropriate treatment and disposal facility in accordance with
applicable laws and regulations, and product characteristics
at time of disposal.
LIMITATIONS: Rust-Oleum Roll Roofing Adhesive is not
intended for use over EPS or EPS composite insulation
unless it is encapsulated in cellular concrete. Not intended for
use in adhering cold applied BUR and MB systems directly to
isocyanurate insulation. Positive drainage is required as
Rust-Oleum Roll Roof Adhesive will not perform in ponded
water conditions.
STORAGE AND DISPOSAL: Keep container tightly closed.
Store in a well-ventilated place. Dispose of contents in
accordance with local regulations.
