PRODUCT APPLICATION
SURFACE PREPARATION
All surfaces must be clean and free from dirt, grease, oil,
mold, algae, loose granules, loose paint, rust, excess chalk
and other foreign matter which could prevent proper
adhesion. For quick and easy cleaning use Rust-Oleum Roof
Patch Cleaner & Primer. Simply spray the product, wait 15-
30 seconds and then wipe it off and then immediately apply
the Triple Thick Roof Patch & Sealer. The cleaner primer
leaves behind an adhesions promoter which helps create
strong adhesion to typically slick roofing substrates such as
single ply membranes, previously coated roofs, metal and
more.

WARNING! If you scrape, sand or remove old paint, you may
release lead dust. LEAD IS TOXIC. EXPOSURE TO LEAD
DUST CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ILLNESS, SUCH AS BRAIN
DAMAGE, ESPECIALLY IN CHILDREN. PREGNANT
WOMEN SHOULD ALSO AVOID EXPOSURE. Wear a
NIOSH-Approved respirator to control lead exposure. Clean
up carefully with a HEPA vacuum and a wet mop. Before you
start, find out how to protect yourself and your family by
contacting the National Lead Information Hotline at 1-800-
424-LEAD or log on to www.epa.gov/lead.
APPLICATION
Use outdoors or in a well ventilated area. Use when
temperature is between 40-120°F (10-48°C) and humidity is
below 85% to ensure proper drying.
Shake can vigorously for one minute after mixing ball begins
to rattle. Shake often during use. If mixing ball fails to rattle
DO NOT STRIKE CAN. Contact Rust-Oleum. Hold can
upright, and press applicator tip to spray material onto
cleaned surface. Generally, a distance of 8-12” from the
surface. Apply short, even strokes. For best results creating a
heavy- build seal do not push the application button all the
way down. This will slow the rate of spray and allow for a
heavier build repair.
DRY & RECOAT TIMES
Dry and recoat times are based on 70ºF (21°C) and 50%
relative humidity. Dry times increase at cooler temperatures.
Dries to the touch to touch in 1-2 minutes. Recoat or topcoat
in 10 minutes. Full waterproofing will occur after 1 hour and
full cure in 24 hours. Can be top-coated with acrylic or solvent
based roof coatings.
CLOGGING
After use, turn can upside down and press spray nozzle until
spray is clear to prevent clogging. If valve clogs, twist and pull
off spray tip and rinse it in a solvent such as mineral spirits.
Do not stick a pin or other objects into the stem.
CLEAN-UP
Wipe tip off before storing. Clean up wet or dry coating with
Xylene or mineral spirits. Throw away empty can in trash pick-
up. Do not burn or place in home trash compactor.
