DESCRIPTION AND USES
Rust-Oleum
®
Imagine Intense Glitter Paint gives an intense
glitter finish that provides multi-dimensional shimmer and
sparkle. Can be applied to drywall, wood, metal, plastic and
hardboard. Formulated to provide a decorative glitter finish
to most surfaces.

PRODUCT APPLICATION
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE
STARTING PROJECT.
SURFACE PREPARATION
Remove loose paint and rust with wire brush or sandpaper.
Lightly sand glossy surfaces. Clean with soap and water,
rinse and let dry. Tape around the area you wish to paint
before beginning.
WARNING! If you scrape, sand or remove old paint from any
surface, you may release lead paint dust. LEAD IS TOXIC.
EXPOSURE TO LEAD DUST CAN CAUSE SERIOUS
ILLNESS, SUCH AS BRAIN DAMAGE; ESPECIALLY IN
CHILDREN. PREGNANT WOMEN SHOULD ALSO AVOID
EXPOSURE. Wear a NIOSH approved respirator to control
lead exposure. Clean up carefully with a HEPA vacuum and
a wet mop. Before you start, find out how to protect yourself
and your family by contacting the National Lead Information
Hotline at 1-800-424-LEAD or log on to www.epa.gov/lead.
PRIMING
To provide superior adhesion and coverage, Zinsser
®
Bulls
Eye 1-2-3
®
white primer is recommended on bare wood,
drywall, metal and other porous surfaces. After priming bare
wood, sand lightly to smooth surface. Follow primer
manufacturer’s instructions for dry time.
BASECOAT
After priming and for best results, we recommend applying a
complimentary colored basecoat before painting to increase
hiding. Follow basecoat manufacturer’s instructions for dry
time.
PRODUCT APPLICATION (cont.)
APPLICATION
For interior use only. Do not apply paint on surfaces which
are exposed to high humidity. Use when temperature is
between 50°F (10°C) and 90°F (32°C) and humidity is below
85% to ensure proper drying.
PAINTING: Imagine Intense Glitter Paint can be applied
with a roller, brush or paint sprayer. With all application
methods, use multiple thin, uniform coats to build glitter
effect. Stir paint every couple of minutes during application.
Imagine Intense Glitter Paint may appear to have a gray tint
inside the can and when applied. This will disappear as the
paint dries on the surface.
ROLL: Stir thoroughly. Use a 3/8” nap roller for best results.
Fully wet roller with paint and remove excess before
applying to wall. Roll glitter on the wall by rolling up and
down as well as side to side until it is evenly distributed on
the surface. Rewet roller as needed.
BRUSH: Stir thoroughly. Use a good quality synthetic
brush. Brush light coats and spread glitter evenly over
surface. For best results, alternate brushing directions with
successive coats to ensure even coverage. Use light, even
strokes to ensure the smoothest finish.
SPRAY: Stir thoroughly. Mix well in spray gun before
application. DO NOT shake. Use fan pattern for best results.
Dries to recoat in approximately 1-2 hours.
Note: If thinning is necessary, thin 5-10% by volume with
water.

DRY AND RECOAT TIMES
Based on 77°F (25°C) and 50% relative humidity. Allow
more time at cooler temperatures. Dries to touch in 1 hour,
to handle in 2 hours, recoat in 2-4 hours and fully cured in.
24 hours.
COVERAGE
Up to 7.5 sq. ft. per half pint. For best coverage results, use
the basecoat suggestions. The first coat does not provide
full coverage; full coverage requires 3-4 coats.
CLEAN UP
Clean brush and other application tools immediately with
soap and water. Follow spray gun manufacturer's
instructions for cleaning equipment.
