.DESCRIPTION AND USES .
Rust-Oleum
®
10 Year Fibered Aluminum Roof Coating is a
metallic pigmented coating used for rust-proofing and
weatherproofing metal roofs and sidewalls, and as a
reflective coating for built-up roofing (BUR) and modified
bitumen roof systems. Rust-Oleum 10 Year Fibered
Aluminum Roof Coating reflects heat, prevents corrosion
and protects against mild acid and alkali fumes on a
variety of substrates, including metal, transite, built-up
roofing and modified bitumen. This reflective coating
protects low and steep slope roofs from harmful UV
damage while supporting overall energy efficiency.
PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS .
60% reflectivity energy efficient reflective coating
11.4% metallic flake content
1 coat direct to tight rust – no primer needed
Waterproofs and rust proofs metal roofs

PRODUCT APPLICATION .
SURFACE PREPARATION
All surfaces must be clean and free from dirt, grease, oil,
mold, algae, loose granules, loose paint, rust, excess
chalk and other foreign matter which could prevent proper
adhesion. Use a high pressure wash of at least 2,000 psi.
Clean with Rust-Oleum Roof & Siding Cleaner to remove
all grease or oily deposits. Seams should be sealed and
waterproofed and roof penetrations should be flashed prior
to applying the topcoat. All surfaces must be clean and
dry.
METAL: Rust and flaking or peeling paint shall be wire
brushed, scraped or pressure washed to ensure a sound
surface. No priming is necessary. Seams, fasteners and
protrusions shall be repaired as needed.
BUR/Modified Bitumen: Torn flashings, faulty copings,
parapet walls, large blisters and surface breaks shall be
repaired prior to application.
WARNING! If you scrape, sand or remove old paint, you
may release lead dust. LEAD IS TOXIC. EXPOSURE TO
LEAD DUST CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ILLNESS, SUCH AS
BRAIN DAMAGE, ESPECIALLY IN YOUNG CHILDREN.
PREGNANT WOMEN SHOULD ALSO AVOID
EXPOSURE. Wear a NIOSH-approved respirator to
control lead exposure. Clean up carefully with a HEPA
vacuum and a wet mop. Before you start, find out how to
protect yourself and your family by contacting the National
Lead Information Hotline at 1-800-424-LEAD or log on to
www.epa.gov/lead.
PRODUCT APPLICATION (cont.) .
APPLICATION
Apply only when air, material, and surface temperatures
are between 50-100ºF (10-38ºC) and the relative humidity
is below 85%. Mix with a power assisted mechanical mixer
before use. Mix until the coating is smooth and consistent.
Rust-Oleum Advanced Fibered Aluminum Roof Coating
can be spray, roll or brush applied. A ⅜” nap roller is
recommended if rolling. Airless spray is recommended for
optimum results. Good results are generally obtained @
2,000-3,000 psi at the spray tip.
SPRAY EQUIPMENT RECOMMENDATION
Pumps: Graco
®
King 45:1, Graco Bulldog 30:1 or gas
powered equivalents. Graco GH733, HydraMax 350 or
GMax 7900 or other manufacturers’ equivalents.
Hose/Pressure: 50’-300’ length (depending on spray rig
pressure). When using hoses longer than 100’, use the
next larger hose ID every 50’. Every 50’ of hose will
reduce the spray pressure of the rig by 10% at the gun tip.
i.e. 300’ hose - ¾” (50’/100’) to ⅝” (50’/100”) to ½”
(50’/100’) to ⅜” (50’).
Gun: Graco Contractor Gun, Graco Contractor FTx gun,
Graco Silver Plus or equivalent. (Tip extrusions or pole
guns can be used).
Tip Type: Heavy Duty RAC Switchtips (GHDXXX) Gray.

COVERAGE
Over metal, 2 gal./100 square feet. Over corrugated and
irregular metal surfaces, allow for additional surface area
by multiplying length x width by 1.15 minimum.
Over smooth Built-up/Modified Bitumen Roofing, 2½
gal./100 square feet. The surface dictates the actual
coverage. The mounts shown are intended as minimum
application information.
