Rust-Oleum
®
Roof and Construction Sealant is a high
performance elastomeric sealant designed for sealing roofs,
walls, trim, doors and windows. It is ideal for residential and
commercial applications. This water-based sealant remains
flexible and can be painted.

PRODUCT APPLICATION
SURFACE PREPARATION
All surfaces must be clean, dry, sound and free from dirt,
grease, oil, mold, algae, loose granules, loose gravel, loose
paint, rust, excess chalk and other foreign matter which
could prevent proper adhesion. Wire brush all rusted metal
and prime with Rust-Oleum Universal Roof Primer.
WARNING! If you scrape, sand or remove old paint, you may
release lead dust. LEAD IS TOXIC. EXPOSURE TO LEAD
DUST CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ILLNESS, SUCH AS BRAIN
DAMAGE, ESPECIALLY IN CHILDREN. PREGNANT
WOMEN SHOULD ALSO AVOID EXPOSURE. Wear a
NIOSH-Approved respirator to control lead exposure. Clean
up carefully with a HEPA vacuum and a wet mop. Before you
start, find out how to protect yourself and your family by

APPLICATION
For exterior use only.
Apply only when air, material, and surface temperatures are
between 40-100ºF (4-38ºC) and the relative humidity is
below 85%.
Place cartridge in a cradle type caulking gun. Cut tip and
puncture seal in spout. Squeeze trigger slowly. Apply ¼-½”
bead of sealant to areas that are to be sealed. Use backer rod
for deep joints.
COVERAGE
Will cover approximately 25 linear feet. Actual coverage will
vary depending upon application method.
DRY & RECOAT TIMES
Dry and recoat times are based on 70ºF and 50% relative
humidity. Allow to dry at least 4-8 hours for thorough dry.
Product will reach full cure in 24 hours. Environmental or site
specific conditions may lead to a variation in dry time.
CLEAN-UP
Clean up wet product with water. Wash tools and equipment
with soap and water. Properly dispose of all soiled rags and
containers.
LIMITATIONS
Do not store above 90ºF (32ºC). DO NOT apply if rain is
expected within 48 hours of application.
