.DESCRIPTION AND USES   . 
Rust-Oleum
®
 Plastic Roof Cement is a fibered, asphalt 
based cement used to install, repair or rebuild roof 
flashings at parapet walls, gravel stops, stacks, vents, 
monitors and similar applications. It is ideal for use with 
fiberglass or polyester fabric or roll roofing for permanent 
repairs. It applies quickly and is smooth without stringing.

 PRODUCT APPLICATION                           . 
SURFACE PREPARATION  
All surfaces must be clean, dry, sound and free from dirt, 
grease, oil, mold, algae, loose granules, loose gravel, 
loose paint, rust, excess chalk and other foreign matter 
which could prevent proper adhesion. 
WARNING! If you scrape, sand or remove old paint, you 
may release lead dust. LEAD IS TOXIC. EXPOSURE TO 
LEAD DUST CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ILLNESS, SUCH AS 
BRAIN DAMAGE, ESPECIALLY IN YOUNG CHILDREN. 
PREGNANT WOMEN SHOULD ALSO AVOID 
EXPOSURE. Wear a NIOSH-approved respirator to 
control lead exposure. Clean up carefully with a HEPA 
vacuum and a wet mop. Before you start, find out how to 
protect yourself and your family by contacting the National

www.epa.gov/lead.
APPLICATION 
Apply only when air, material, and surface temperatures 
are between 0-100ºF (-18-38ºC) and the relative humidity 
is below 85%.

Trowel – Apply with a pointed roofer’s trowel (⅛-¼”) thick. 
When making roof repairs or striping over the top of 
flashing laps, perform a 3-course repair consisting of one 
application of Plastic Roof Cement followed by an 
embedded strip of Rust-Oleum Universal Patching 
Fabric or other mesh, followed by a final application of 
Plastic Roof Cement. When repairing a blister, open the 
area and let dry thoroughly. Do not apply over wet or 
damp surfaces. 
Cartridge – Place cartridge in a cradle type caulking gun. 
Cut tip and puncture seal in spout. Squeeze trigger slowly. 
Apply ¼-½” bead of sealant to areas that are to be sealed. 
COVERAGE 
Cartridge - Approximately 20 linear feet. 
0.9 Gallon - Approximately 12.5 square feet. 
4.75 Gallons - Approximately 65 square feet. 
Actual coverage may vary depending upon application 
method.
DRY & RECOAT TIMES 
Dry and recoat times are based on 70ºF and 50% relative 
humidity. Allow to dry at least 2 hours for thorough dry. 
Product will reach full cure in 24 hours. Environmental or 
site specific conditions may lead to a variation in dry time. 
CLEAN-UP 
Wash tools and equipment with mineral spirits. Wipe up 
spills before they dry. Properly dispose of all soiled rags 
and containers. 
LIMITATIONS 
Do not thin. In cold weather, store unopened container at 
room temperature for 24 hours before use. On wet 
surfaces, use Rust-Oleum Wet Patch. Not recommended 
as a shingle adhesive or for use over gravel, rubber, PVC 
sheeting or wood shingles. Close any open vents until 
solvents dissipate.
