RIPPLED EFFECT
DESCRIPTION AND USES

®
Rippled Effect Clear is an innovative coating that
creates a rippled effect with a wet glass texture. Rippled Effect is
a semi-transparent clear coating that transforms the texture of
the glass, but allows light to pass through. It is ideal for use on
glass vases, candle holders, lamps and window panes. Rippled
Effect features an advanced spray system that allows you to
spray at any angle, even upside down for those hard to reach
areas. A comfort spray tip with a wider finger pad to reduce
fatigue caused by continuous spraying. For indoor use only.
PRODUCT APPLICATION
PAINTING CONDITIONS
Use outdoors or in a well ventilated area such as an open
garage. Use when the temperature is between 50-90°F
(10-32°C) and humidity is below 85% to ensure proper
drying. Do not apply to surfaces that will exceed 200°F
(93°C) or on galvanized metal. Avoid spraying in very
windy, dusty conditions. Cover surrounding area to protect
from spray mist.
SURFACE PREPARATION
Clean surface thoroughly with glass cleaner or soap and
water using a lint-free cloth. Allow glass to dry completely
before painting.
PRODUCT APPLICATION
APPLICATION
Shake can vigorously for one minute after mixing ball
begins to rattle. If missing ball fails to rattle, DO NOT
STRIKE CAN. Contact Rust-Oleum. Shake often during
use. For a finer texture, hold the can upright 12-14 inches
from the surface and spray in a steady back-and-forth
motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. Apply using very
thin coats. Keep the can the same distance from the
surface and keep the can in motion while spraying. For a
larger texture, hold the can upright 10-12 inches from the
surface and spray in a slow but steady back and forth
motion keeping the can the same distance from the
surface and in motion while spraying. The wet look will
appear shiny once applied to the surface. Apply 3-5 coats.
The effect will be enhanced by more applied coats.
DRY & RECOAT TIMES
Dry and recoat times are based on 70°F (21°C) and 50%
relative humidity. Dries tack free in 5 minutes and will be
completely dry in 15-20 minutes. It may be recoated at
anytime. Note: Once dry, the rippled surface may be
cleaned with a soft cloth or hand washed with soap and
water.
CLEAN-UP
Wipe off tip before storing. Clean up wet paint with xylene
or mineral spirits. Properly discard of empty container. Do
not burn or place in home trash compactor.
CLOGGING
If valve clogs, twist and pull off spray tip and rinse in a
solvent such as mineral spirits. Do not stick pin or other
object into the stem.
