High Performance Wheel - Aerosol
DESCRIPTION Protective enamel used to enhance the look and color of a vehicle’s wheels or
hubcaps.
USES For use on plastic hubcaps and wheels made of aluminum or steel.
APPEARANCE Available in Steel, Flat Black, Graphite, and Clear.
SURFACE PREPARATION (See directions on can for more details)
Remove loose paint and rust with a wire brush or sandpaper. Lightly sand glossy
surfaces. Clean the surface with soap and water, rinse and let dry. Wipe the surface
clean with Rust-Oleum
®
Wax & Tar Remover and then let dry. Note: Cleaning surface
before and after wire brushing or sanding is recommended. The use of a Rust-Oleum
®
Automotive Primer will provide additional adhesion and hiding and is especially
recommended for bare metal. For best results, remove the wheels or hubcaps from the
vehicle before applying.
MIXING Shake can vigorously for one minute after mixing ball begins to rattle. Shake the can
often during use.
APPLICATION Use outdoors or in a well-ventilated area such as an open garage. Use when
temperature is between 50°F (10°C) and 90°F (32°C) and humidity is below 85% to
ensure proper drying. Do not apply to surfaces that, when heated, exceed 200°F
(93°C) or galvanized metal. Avoid spraying in very windy, dusty conditions. Cover
surrounding area to protect from spray mist. Hold the can 10-16" from the surface and
spray in a steady back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. Keep the can
the same distance from the surface. Keep the can in motion while spraying. Apply one
light coat followed by one wet coat. For an even glossier finish, apply High
Performance Wheel Clear over wheels coated with High Performance Wheel Flat
Black, Graphite, or Steel.
